Nearly 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the state, producing strong winds topping 109km/h.

Locals reported giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
