WHere is a home-style interpretation of a beverage found on our latest drinks list. This is a large-volume prepared mix which is packed with essence associated with festive period, rendering it excellent for hosting a holiday party. Any leftover syrup for brunch beverages, puddings, or for more rounds of bikinis.
The Bikini Cocktail
Serves 10 people
Ingredients for the Citrus Syrup (produces 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g caster sugar
Ingredients for the Drink (produces 850ml, serving 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml clementine syrup (from the recipe above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Directions
For the Cordial: Place all the ingredients in a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring to dissolve. After that, turn off the burner and leave to reach room temperature fully. Transfer to a clean bottle, close it and refrigerate it in the fridge, it will last for around four weeks.
Preparing the Cocktail Base: Pour every liquids into a big jug, allow it to infuse for an hour, then strain preferably using a fine cloth, making it fully clarified.
For serving: Pour 85ml from the cocktail base to a stirring glass containing ice, gently stirring gently for one minute to cool it down. Pour to a frosted cocktail glass or similar, top with the cranberries and complete it using a light spray with the mandarin essence over the top.
