Presence

The acclaimed director tests his directorial skills in this clever ghostly tale captured wholly from the viewpoint of the spirit. When a household including mother Rebekah and her distressed teen Chloe occupies their new suburban house, the filming device – as the unseen entity – shadows their actions. The daughter appears sensing the poltergeist, and the entity appears defensive toward her. Yet what is the reason? This is an entertaining concept that doesn't outstay its welcome, featuring a surprise you might not see coming. Saturday 11 October, multiple showings, Sky Cinema Premiere

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Cage wholeheartedly adopts his unique fame through this autobiographical spoof. Contacted by government spies to investigate the alleged criminal, the actor's “nouveau shamanic acting ability” proves useful. Saturday 11 October, 9pm, Channel 4

This Creepy Thriller

Derrickson's locked-room horror stands strong despite the lack of a continuation. Set in 1978 Denver, several disappearances has made the children on edge. When Finney is taken by the villain and imprisoned in a dungeon, he dreads a terrible outcome. This Saturday, 10.50pm, Film4

The Tammy Faye Biopic

In the struggle between spirituality and money, the victory is clear for greed in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation regarding the shamed TV preacher and her criminal husband. Andrew Garfield acts as the venal Jim, who declares at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. The couple begin monetising the nation's Christian beliefs. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, bad makeup and insincerity, however the lead actress achieves to depict the character with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, 1.15am, the Film4 channel

The Spy Mystery

This week's another release by the same director is a espionage tale as sharp as the polo necks worn by Michael Fassbender's intelligence officer. His assignment is to identify a traitor among the team from a group of five – one of whom is his spouse. Each performer are masters of deadpan cool, so a delicious psychological game of fact versus fiction develops. Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris and Marisa Abela participate the intelligent intelligence fun. Friday 17 October, multiple time slots, Sky Cinema Premiere
