The New Mayor Pledges a 'Dawn' for New York City in Maiden Speech
On his initial day in office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “reimagine” America's largest city, ushering in “a different age” and an ambitious commencement to his tenure.
An Unprecedented Leader
The 34-year-old political star, who was a virtually unknown state assemblyman, has become the city's first Muslim mayor. He additionally marked a milestone by being the first to be sworn in using the Islamic holy text.
